Don’t Break the Internet

By Rachel L. West

Earlier today the FCC voted in favor of overturning net neutrality. This was a highly unfavorable ruling as the majority of Americans support net neutrality. The good news is that the fight isn’t over. Congress has 60 days to use the Congressional Review Act to stop the FCC ruling.

You need to call your US Representative and tell them you believe in net neutrality. Tell them you want them to take action by using the Congressional Review Act pass a “Resolution of Disapproval” to overrule the FCC decision.

Fight for the Future (FFT) makes it easy to reach out to key decision makers about this issue. Vist them at https://www.fightforthefuture.org/.

You will be prompted to enter your name and zip code. They will generate a letter for you to send to your representative. They will then give you the option to call your representative’s office. If you opt to do so, FFT will call your phone and connect you to your member of Congress. A short script with suggested language will pop up on your screen. The whole process takes less than 5 minutes.
