Chat with Coffee Klatch Special Needs Radio Founder

By Rachel L. West, MSW, LMSW
The Political Social Worker

Last night Social Work Chats by Social Work Helper welcomed Marianne Russo, Founder and President, of Coffee Klatch Special Needs Radio.

Coffee Klatch special needs radio airs programs aimed at providing information and support to parents of special needs children.

The reason I asked Marianne to be a guest for Social Work Chats because I felt that the Coffee Klatch would be a great resource for social workers to have.  It can be a means for us to educate ourselves about the issues surrounding being the parent of a special needs child as well as being a resource we can give to parents we are working with.  I think this would be particularly beneficial to a parent living in an area where there are few support groups.

You can listen to Coffee Klatch Special Needs Radio here.  You can also read the transcript from the chat here. It is not too late to join in the conversation. Storify, which is where all Social Work Chats transcripts are archived, allows readers to share stories and leave comments.  Feel free to pass the transcript link to you friends and colleagues.

Social Work Chats by Social Work Helper is a weekly live Twitter chat that takes place on Mondays from 8PM to 9PM EST.  You can find out more by visiting Social Work Helper.
