Campaign School 2015

By Rachel L. West
Advocacy & Community Outreach Consultant

The Nancy A. Humphreys Institute for Political Social Work’s Campaign School officers social workers to learn about political campaigns. I’ve been invited to present a workshop on social media.

You can learn more including how to register here.

This year’s Campaign School will take place on Friday April 10th and Saturday April 11th. In its 18 year existence the program has trained more than 500 social workers from across the United States. Those who attend leave with an understanding of how to run a campaign as well as strategies for political action. Topics will include:

  • Deciding when and how to run for office.
  • Building a voter base.
  • Fundraising.
  • Communicating your message.
  • Using social media.
  • Public speaking
  • Career paths for social workers in political settings.
