Want To Call Your Congressman But Don’t Know How?

By Rachel L. West

Have you ever wanted to call your congressman about a particular piece of legislation but weren’t sure how? GovTrack now makes it simple. The legislation tracking website now features a “call congress” button on all bill pages.

If you want to call you representative or senator about a bill all you do is click the “call congress” button and GovTrack will walk you through the call. When you click the button a window will pop up asking if you support or oppose the legislation. Once you pick a position you will then be asked to enter your home address so GovTrack can locate your representative’s contact information. Once they locate your congressional district you have two options: 1) enter your phone number and GovTrack will place they call or 2) call the number directly. On the right hand side of the screen will be a call script with suggestions of what to say.
